Indonesia had been on my bucket list for a long time, and I was certain it would be our next destination as soon as I found some good flight deals. This vast country is immense, comprising over 17,000 islands and extending for 5,271 kilometers. Since this was our first trip to Indonesia, we decided to focus on the areas of Java, Bali, Lombok, and Flores. Venturing further would have meant significant travel time, and we only had a shy month to explore.

We flew with Etihad and Air Serbia straight from Ljubljana, which is always convenient. However, our very first Air Serbia flight was delayed by three hours. Thankfully, they were well-organized and managed to get us on all our connecting flights without any issues. We arrived in Jakarta late at night, checked into a nearby hotel, and got some much-needed rest. The next day, we were off again, flying to Bali. A taxi took us from Ngurah Rai Airport to our first stop on the Bukit Peninsula, where we would spend the next few days...
